Social Media Manager
- Part-Time Social Media & Communications Coordinator
- Location: Middletown, NY. In-Office + Occasional Local Field Work – Orange, Sullivan, and/or Ulster Counties
- 8–10 hours per week
- Compensation: $20–22/hour, depending on experience
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative and mission-driven part-time Social Media & Communications Coordinator to lead our digital storytelling and community outreach. You’ll plan and create content for our social media platforms, produce a monthly e-newsletter, and occasionally hit the streets to distribute flyers and capture stories from the field.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled communicator who believes in the power of community programs, youth development, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a weekly content calendar
- Create engaging posts (graphics, captions, reels) for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Monitor messages and comments and engage with followers
- Track and report on engagement and growth metrics
- Stay up to date on best practices and trends
- Draft, design, and distribute a monthly e-newsletter using Mailchimp
- Coordinate with staff to highlight program updates, impact stories, and events
- Manage subscriber list and basic analytics
- Post flyers in community spaces and partner locations
- Attend occasional events or site visits to capture photos/videos or interviews

- A skilled writer and communicator with a sharp eye for visual storytelling
- Organized and self-directed—you can manage a calendar and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using Canva, LinkedIn, and email marketing platforms
- Enthusiastic about our mission and programs, and eager to help us tell our story

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in social media or digital communications
- Familiarity with nonprofits or community-based work
- Basic photo/video skills (smartphone-quality is fine)
- Bonus: Experience with Google Analytics
