Duties and Responsibilities

Case Management and Volunteer Supervision

  • Responsible for: assigning cases, developing case plans with volunteers, updating files, and updating case information in computer.
  • Maintains frequent contact, including monthly meetings, with each assigned volunteer and keeps a tracking system of all contacts. Coordinates and facilitates volunteer meetings. Provides support to volunteers as needed.
  • Assists volunteers with drafting of court reports. Edits, proofreads, and files reports.
  • Acts as liaison between program and professional community, facilitating communication between agencies and volunteers.
  • Provides regular reports to Executive Director on case/volunteer activity.
  • Attends multi-disciplinary team meetings and wrap-around meetings when necessary.
  • Helps with training and in-service training when needed.
  • Provides verbal, and/or written recognition of volunteers’ contributions, and assists in development of volunteer support/recognition activities.

Program Accountability

  • Helps to set goals regarding case management; monitors progress of volunteers.
  • Reports any problems with staff, volunteers, or cases immediately to the Executive Director for coordination of response.

Education and Work Experience

  • BA/BS degree in social service-related field
  • Work experience in the fields of law, psychology, human services and/or social work

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to relate positively and with self-confidence and equanimity to judges, lawyers, social workers, foster parents, agency personnel and children.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of emotionally charged situations in an effective, diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to work some flexible hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
